As you may be aware, snow has been forecast for the local area. It is important I update you on our procedures in case of snow or other poor weather.
First and foremost, as long as it is safe to do so, school will remain open for our normal 8:00-6:00pm opening times.
This could mean that it could snow whilst your children are here with us. In this situation it is important that we are able to contact you if the weather conditions worsen and we need to close early. This will be done by text message, Twitter and through the website. Please ensure that you have access to your text messages.
If we wake to poor or even dangerous weather conditions, Mrs Maskell will consult with Mrs Morgan (Chair of Governors), Mr Homer and the Local Authority if appropriate. If the decision is made to close the school for the whole day you will be contacted again by text message with additional notice published on Twitter and this website.
We will also contact the local radio stations (Black Country Radio & Free Radio) to be added to their Snowline updates.
If we remain in school, where it is safe to do so, we will try to take the children outside at some point for safe 'snow play'. Please make sure your child has suitable warm winter clothing including hats, gloves, scarves and waterproof boots as well as spares in case they become wet. We will only take children out if they have suitable clothing. Mrs Maskell has her ski clothes ready!
