Dawley Brook Primary School worked with Historic England to organise an event at Dudley Canal & Tunnels Trust to share aspects of our exciting curriculum and help celebrate 10 years of the Historic England Heritage education programme.
We are one of only eight schools in the country that have been awarded Heritage Champion School status by Historic England which shows how highly the work we do is thought of.
Our Choir, School Councillors and Heritage Ambassadors worked with Mr Walters, Mr Capener and the Young 'Uns for several weeks to practise the original folk songs written by Years 5 and 6. They performed these in the Singing Cavern. What a sight and sound! Teachers from around the region as well as the Heritage Programme Director from Historic England were amongst the audience.
